考えてみると本は人類に多大な影響を与えてきました。今でこそ世界中の人とコミュニケーションを簡単にとることができますが、昔々の世界では、本は重要な情報伝達の手段であり、考えを発信していく手段でもあったのです。

時代が変わったいまでも読書の本質は変わっていないと思います。本を読むことで人生を変えることができるとさえ信じています。そして、読書はデザインにもつながりを持っています。デザイン制作において大切な思考力と編集力を読書によって磨くことができるのです。

デザインをどう組み立てていくか、どのようなデザインにして魅力を伝えていくかという思考力と編集力が優れていればいるほど、良いデザインが出来上がります。これはデザインの言語化にも関係しています。思考と編集によって生み出されたデザインを言語化できる、僕はこのプロセスを大切にしています。

情報伝達という本質は、Webサイトに通じるものがあると思いませんか？

Novels, business books, educational texts, reference books, magazines, manga... I love all kinds of books in this world and find myself completely immersed in the world of the written word.

When you think about it, books have had a tremendous impact on humanity. Today, we can easily communicate with people around the world, but in the distant past, books were one of the most important means of sharing information and expressing ideas.

Even though the times have changed, I believe the essence of reading has remained the same. I truly believe that reading can change your life. And to me, reading is deeply connected to design as well. Through reading, I’ve been able to develop the critical thinking and editorial skills that are essential in the creative process.

The better you are at thinking through how to structure a design and how to convey its appeal, the better the final result will be. This is also closely related to the ability to verbalize design. I value the process of being able to articulate the design that emerges from thoughtful planning and editing.

Don’t you think that this essence of communication—conveying ideas and information—is something that websites share with books?

僕たちの生活には音があふれています。

朝目覚めてから夜眠りにつくまで、様々な音を耳にします。心地の良い音から耳障りな音まで、こちらの意識に関係なく向こうからやって来ては聞かされてを1日中繰り返しています。

音は、人類にとって状況や情報の判断材料になると共に、心の波を変化させる旋律にもなります。

音楽はいにしえより人々によって作られ奏でられ、いまも様々なジャンルの音楽が生み出され、僕たちはそれを享受することができます。

気分に合った音楽を聴くのも良い、気分を変えるために音楽を聴くのも良い、誰かを励ますたまに音楽をかけるのもまた一興。

音楽によって心は変化します。音を聴いて心の波を綺麗に整えれば、暮らしのリズムも綺麗になる気がします。

Our lives are filled with sound.

From the moment we wake up in the morning until we fall asleep at night, we hear a variety of sounds. From pleasant ones to irritating noises, they come to us uninvited and reach our ears all day long, regardless of our awareness.

Sound serves as a source of information and cues for understanding situations, and at the same time, it becomes a melody that can influence the state of our hearts.

Since ancient times, music has been created and played by people. Even today, various genres of music are being born, and we have the pleasure of enjoying them.

Listening to music that matches your mood is great, and so is listening to music to change your mood. Playing music to encourage someone is also a wonderful thing.

Music changes the heart. If we can tune the waves of our hearts by listening to sound, it feels like the rhythm of our daily lives will become beautiful as well.

あるとき偶然出会ったレンブラントの『夜警』に魅せられて絵画が好きに。

色による明暗の迫力、一つのキャンバスに描かれた物語、そこには一つの世界が表現されています。

世界史の教科書にも載っているくらいには有名な絵画ですがそうした媒体に印刷されたものよりも遥かに迫力を感じ、絵画の魅力に気がつきました。

それからアートの世界へ入門しました。

アートの技術的側面はもちろん、アートを見ることによって生まれる思考や心の変化という感情的側面もアートの魅力の一つです。

アートと向き合えば自分の心が跳ね返って来るようであり、鑑賞するタイミングによってその映り方も変わるのは面白いですよね。

One day, by chance, I came across Rembrandt’s The Night Watch, and I was captivated—this encounter sparked my love for painting.

The dramatic contrast of light and shadow created through color, the story depicted on a single canvas—each painting expresses an entire world.

Though it's a famous artwork often featured in world history textbooks, seeing it in person had an overwhelming impact far beyond any printed reproduction. That’s when I truly discovered the allure of painting.

Since then, I’ve stepped into the world of art.

Art's appeal lies not only in its technical aspects but also in the emotional side—the thoughts and feelings that arise when we view it.

Engaging with art feels like facing a reflection of your own heart. It’s fascinating how what you see can change depending on the timing of your encounter with it.
